I have found when we focus on our mental health…other areas of our lives can improve. The first and hardest step is to reach out and find someone to help guide you. In my sessions, I use a person-centered approach to meet you where you are and provide you with tools to reduce the pressures of life and achieve your personal goals. I enjoy counseling adults of all ages (starting at age 16). I enjoy those who are just starting out in adulthood and trying to navigate their path, but I also love working with those adults “with more life experience.” Many, like myself, are now empty nesters and figuring out what their next steps look like. I really work with lots of middle-aged women who are unsure of their next steps or are stressed out with jobs and raising children. I also see many adults with late diagnosis of Autism.

I realize that making the appointment can be the hardest step and it can sometimes be intimidating to reach out to someone and talk about matters that we hold close to our hearts. I try to provide a relaxing and comfortable environment where clients can have a safe place to address patterns, thoughts or behaviors that are holding them back from their potential. In session, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Solution Focused Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR and Gottman, Level one.

Before becoming a therapist, I was a special education teacher and a school counselor. I loved my years in education, but I now enjoy assisting clients with establishing goals, working on accountability and adapting to transitions of life in a more consistent setting. In my “me-time”, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to live music, creating crafts, and watching mindless reality tv.
